Cold Trays for the Noodle Drop

Test in Color Lab

Five colors, endless possibilities. Select a color to copy its HEX.

A bold chilled-noodle palette combining saturated violet packaging with frost white, pale celery, sharp mint, and deep tray charcoal. Built for kit cards, garnish labels, order controls, and cold preparation grids.

The mood

Cold steel trays click into a tight preparation grid as the first noodle kits are packed. Chilled Violet turns the outer sleeve into a confident color field, while Frost Label keeps the product name and essential order details precise.

Celery Sheet gives ingredient cards a pale vegetable note. Pickle Mint cuts through it with the energy of a sharp garnish, and Tray Charcoal anchors weights, batch marks, and checkout details. The palette feels cold, fast, and appetizing without falling back on tomato red or orange.

How to use it

Cover the kit sleeve, launch banner, or cart header with Chilled Violet and use Frost Label for normal copy. Place ingredient lists and preparation steps on Celery Sheet, switching to Tray Charcoal for the text.

Use Pickle Mint for the selected kit size, chilled-delivery state, or a crisp garnish strip, again with Tray Charcoal inside it. Tray Charcoal can also define batch numbers and the order-summary footer. Begin with a 55/32/13 split across background, primary, and highlight surfaces, then add the text and accent roles where needed.

What to watch

Frost Label reaches 5.14:1 on Chilled Violet and 13.81:1 on Tray Charcoal. It reaches only 1.26:1 on Celery Sheet and 1.49:1 on Pickle Mint, so both pairs fail the 4.5:1 normal-text threshold and the 3:1 large-text threshold. Use Tray Charcoal instead: it reaches 11.00:1 on Celery Sheet and 9.26:1 on Pickle Mint.

Limit Pickle Mint to a few active order states or garnish details. Give every temperature, ingredient, and availability state a word or icon, and avoid placing celery and mint in equal adjacent panels without a charcoal divider.

A considered balance

Make room for
the right colors.

Use Chilled Violet for the kit sleeve or cart header with Frost Label text. Build ingredient and preparation cards from Celery Sheet and Tray Charcoal. Apply Pickle Mint to selected sizes, chilled-delivery states, or garnish strips with Tray Charcoal text. Begin with a 55/32/13 surface split.

Start with a generous background, introduce your primary color, then use the highlight sparingly. The ratios are a guide for large surfaces, not a fixed recipe.

Background · Primary · Highlight. Use text and accent colors where their roles call for them.

Text on background
5.14:1 #F2F2F0 on #8150A8 · AA normal text
Text on primary
1.26:1 #F2F2F0 on #C8E39B · Not suitable for text

The original text has low contrast (1.26:1). This example uses Tray Charcoal (#202528) from the same palette instead of #F2F2F0 on #C8E39B, improving contrast to 11.00:1. This meets WCAG AA for normal text.

Text on highlight
1.49:1 #F2F2F0 on #43E0B5 · Not suitable for text

The original text has low contrast (1.49:1). This example uses Tray Charcoal (#202528) from the same palette instead of #F2F2F0 on #43E0B5, improving contrast to 9.26:1. This meets WCAG AA for normal text.

Text on accent
13.81:1 #F2F2F0 on #202528 · AAA normal text

Contrast is calculated for these specific pairs. Large text means at least 24 px regular or about 18.7 px bold. Check every pairing in your final design.

COLOR NOTE

Frost Label fails both normal- and large-text AA on Celery Sheet at 1.26:1 and Pickle Mint at 1.49:1. Use Tray Charcoal on those surfaces instead at 11.00:1 and 9.26:1. Limit mint to active order or garnish cues, and label every temperature and availability state.

Text/background contrast: 5.14:1. This is one measured pair, not a guarantee for the whole palette. Check every actual text/background pairing against WCAG AA. Prefer readable combinations from the original colors, keep visible keyboard focus, and never communicate state through color alone. If no original pairing meets the requirement, propose a separately labeled derived color with its original HEX, proposed HEX, purpose and measured contrast. Never overwrite the source palette.

This guide preserves the original HEX values. Review the output before using it.
