Parts Return to Their Fitted Tray

Test in Color Lab

Five colors, endless possibilities. Select a color to copy its HEX.

An industrial repair-kit palette of pale metal, deep green, muted violet, vivid blue, and muted cyan for modular cases, parts trays, and labels.

The feeling

The mood

A metal case opens to reveal every component seated in its own fitted recess. Workshop Light gives the package a clean neutral shell, Fitted Violet organizes the tray, and Replace Blue forms one crisp removable repair strip. Diagram Green carries the printed instructions, while Component Cyan marks the stamped part diagram without turning the kit into a field of warning colors.

The identity comes from modular edges, measured gaps, and solid color planes. The tray, strip, and diagram each have a clear job, giving the package an industrial rhythm that still feels approachable.

How to use it

Use Workshop Light for 58% of the case and packaging field. Give Fitted Violet 30% to the inner tray and component recesses. Reserve 12% for Replace Blue on the removable repair strip. Apply Diagram Green to headings, part names, instructions, and diagram lines on all three surfaces.

Label the outer plane “Case,” mark the fitted area “Parts tray,” and print “Repair label” on the blue strip. Use Component Cyan for a small stamped component diagram or numbered part marker. Repeat every part number beside its matching recess, and connect each label with a solid rule or keyed outline.

What to watch

Diagram Green measures 10.95:1 on Workshop Light, 4.75:1 on Fitted Violet, 4.75:1 on Replace Blue, and 4.86:1 on Component Cyan. All four pairings support normal and large text. The tray and blue-strip margins are narrow: use the exact HEX colors at full opacity and measure again after any ink, coating, or display adjustment.

No other color in this palette reaches 4.5:1 on Fitted Violet or Replace Blue, so Diagram Green is the only original-color choice for normal text on those planes. Keep the vivid blue strip concentrated, preserve the written Case, Parts tray, and Repair label text, and use recess shapes and numbered rules to show where each component belongs.

A considered balance

Make room for
the right colors.

Design industrial repair-kit packaging with Workshop Light at 58% for the case and field, Fitted Violet at 30% for the parts tray, and Replace Blue at 12% for the removable strip. Use exact full-opacity Diagram Green for all text, especially on the violet tray and blue strip. Add a small Component Cyan stamped diagram with written Case, Parts tray, and Repair label labels, numbered parts, and solid connector rules.

Start with a generous background, introduce your primary color, then use the highlight sparingly. The ratios are a guide for large surfaces, not a fixed recipe.

COLOR NOTE

Keep Diagram Green, Fitted Violet, and Replace Blue at their exact HEX values and full opacity. Their 4.75:1 normal-text margins are narrow, and no other original palette color is a valid normal-text substitute on those surfaces.

Text/background contrast: 10.95:1. This is one measured pair, not a guarantee for the whole palette. Check every actual text/background pairing against WCAG AA. Prefer readable combinations from the original colors, keep visible keyboard focus, and never communicate state through color alone. If no original pairing meets the requirement, propose a separately labeled derived color with its original HEX, proposed HEX, purpose and measured contrast. Never overwrite the source palette.

This guide preserves the original HEX values. Review the output before using it.
