Artifact 12 Enters Verification

Test in Color Lab

Five colors, endless possibilities. Select a color to copy its HEX.

An industrial developer-tool palette for tracing one numbered artifact from compile station to verification bay.

The feeling

A numbered artifact tile, compile station, transfer connector, verification bay, and thin event-log rail

Explore this palette ↓

The mood

Artifact 12 leaves a compile station and moves along a connector into the verification bay. A slim event-log rail records each step beside the conveyor-like pipeline.

Machine Alloy supports the interface, Build Red carries core text, and Artifact Blue forms the moving tile. Verify Green marks the next bay, while Log Navy anchors the event rail.

How to use it

Use Machine Alloy for 55% of the overview, Artifact Blue for the 32% artifact panel, and Verify Green for the 13% verification bay. Keep Log Navy to the thin event rail outside the principal ratio.

Build Red reads on Machine Alloy at 4.77:1, Artifact Blue at 8.65:1, and Verify Green at 5.71:1. It measures 1.00:1 on Log Navy and fails normal and large text; switch to Artifact Blue there at 8.68:1. Label steps “1 Compile,” “2 Transfer,” and “3 Verify,” place “Log” above the rail, and join stations with arrow connectors.

What to watch

Preserve #521625 and #9B9690 at full opacity because their 4.77:1 base contrast has a narrow margin. Keep the green bay attached to its written Verify label and step number.

Repeat artifact number 12 in the overview and detail panel, and combine each process state with its step number, written label, and connector shape.

A considered balance

Make room for
the right colors.

Use Machine Alloy for 55% of the interface, Artifact Blue for the 32% artifact panel, and Verify Green for the 13% bay. Keep Log Navy as a thin rail. Use Build Red on alloy, blue, and green; use Artifact Blue text on navy. Label 1 Compile, 2 Transfer, 3 Verify, Artifact 12, and Log.

Start with a generous background, introduce your primary color, then use the highlight sparingly. The ratios are a guide for large surfaces, not a fixed recipe.

Background · Primary · Highlight. Use text and accent colors where their roles call for them.

Text on background
4.77:1 #521625 on #9B9690 · AA normal text
Text on primary
8.65:1 #521625 on #9DD2F5 · AAA normal text
Text on highlight
5.71:1 #521625 on #68B854 · AA normal text
Text on accent
1.00:1 #521625 on #102A58 · Not suitable for text

The original text has low contrast (1.00:1). This example uses Artifact Blue (#9DD2F5) from the same palette instead of #521625 on #102A58, improving contrast to 8.68:1. This meets WCAG AA for normal text.

Contrast is calculated for these specific pairs. Large text means at least 24 px regular or about 18.7 px bold. Check every pairing in your final design.

Text/background contrast: 4.77:1. This is one measured pair, not a guarantee for the whole palette. Check every actual text/background pairing against WCAG AA. Prefer readable combinations from the original colors, keep visible keyboard focus, and never communicate state through color alone. If no original pairing meets the requirement, propose a separately labeled derived color with its original HEX, proposed HEX, purpose and measured contrast. Never overwrite the source palette.

This guide preserves the original HEX values. Review the output before using it.
