The mood

Pale lemon light changes the feel of an electronic listening program from late-night club to open afternoon session. Royal purple keeps the artist lineup graphic, while dark turquoise and charcoal gray give the chosen session and practical details their own steady rhythm.

How to use it

Lemon Program is the schedule canvas, carrying Black Needle titles, program notes, and navigation. Royal Slot holds artist entries and listening-program previews with lemon text. Move the chosen stage and session into a separate Turquoise Select block, also with lemon text and a written “Selected” label. Detail Gray supports duration labels, venue guidance, and session notes in lemon. Use 55% lemon, 30% purple, and 15% turquoise; gray should remain a compact information strip. Place each colored block directly on the lemon field.

What to watch

Black Needle reaches about 15.45:1 on Lemon Program but fails on Royal Slot, Turquoise Select, and Detail Gray at about 2.32:1, 2.85:1, and 3.31:1. Lemon Program text reads on those colors at about 6.67:1, 5.43:1, and 4.67:1. Each dark surface also forms a clear boundary against lemon at the same ratio. Purple, turquoise, and gray differ from one another by only 1.16:1 to 1.43:1, so do not join or nest them; use lemon space and repeat artist, stage, session, and selection meaning in words.

A considered balance

Make room for
the right colors.

Use Lemon Program with Black Needle for the main schedule and notes. Place artist slots on Royal Slot, the labeled selected stage or session on Turquoise Select, and supporting details on Detail Gray, all with lemon text and separate placement on the pale canvas.

Start with a generous background, introduce your primary color, then use the highlight sparingly. The ratios are a guide for large surfaces, not a fixed recipe.

Text/background contrast: 15.45:1. This is one measured pair, not a guarantee for the whole palette. Check every actual text/background pairing against WCAG AA. Prefer readable combinations from the original colors, keep visible keyboard focus, and never communicate state through color alone. If no original pairing meets the requirement, propose a separately labeled derived color with its original HEX, proposed HEX, purpose and measured contrast. Never overwrite the source palette.

This guide preserves the original HEX values. Review the output before using it.
