Five colors, endless possibilities. Select a color to copy its HEX.
A nostalgic all-season archive palette of faded cyan, berry ink, neutral index paper, pale violet selection, and ochre slide tabs.
The feeling
A numbered slide frame rests beside a handwritten index card while a narrow viewer window marks the selected record
Explore this palette ↓A numbered slide mount rests on a pale index card across a faded cyan viewer plane. Berry Index Ink gives the imagined handwriting a firm digital counterpart, while Selected Violet marks one narrow viewing window.
Mount Ochre tabs the frame without overwhelming the paper. The detail screen and printable card repeat the labels Frame number, Index note, and Selected beside borders and numbers, making the record easy to follow.
Use Viewer Cyan for the catalog background with Index Ink for headings, record fields, and navigation. Build the primary Index Card surface in Card Paper with Index Ink text.
Treat Selected Violet as the pale selected-record surface with Index Ink text. Use Mount Ochre for a small slide tab or metadata panel with Index Ink text. The 50/32/18 ratio means 50% Viewer Cyan background, 32% Card Paper primary surface, and 18% Selected Violet highlight; Mount Ochre remains a smaller accent outside the surface split.
Index Ink reaches 6.05:1 on Viewer Cyan, 11.58:1 on Card Paper, 9.05:1 on Selected Violet, and 5.32:1 on Mount Ochre. All four pairings pass WCAG AA for normal and large text.
Keep the words Frame number, Index note, and Selected beside their borders or values. Preserve the narrow viewer window and use the original solid, full-opacity colors for essential text.
A considered balance
Use Viewer Cyan as the catalog field, Card Paper as the primary index card, Selected Violet as the highlighted record, and Mount Ochre as a small tab. Index Ink passes AA on all four surfaces at the original solid, full-opacity HEX values. Follow a 50/32/18 background-primary-highlight surface ratio.
Start with a generous background, introduce your primary color, then use the highlight sparingly. The ratios are a guide for large surfaces, not a fixed recipe.

Background · Primary · Highlight. Use text and accent colors where their roles call for them.
Contrast is calculated for these specific pairs. Large text means at least 24 px regular or about 18.7 px bold. Check every pairing in your final design.

Text/background contrast: 6.05:1. This is one measured pair, not a guarantee for the whole palette. Check every actual text/background pairing against WCAG AA. Prefer readable combinations from the original colors, keep visible keyboard focus, and never communicate state through color alone. If no original pairing meets the requirement, propose a separately labeled derived color with its original HEX, proposed HEX, purpose and measured contrast. Never overwrite the source palette.
This guide preserves the original HEX values. Review the output before using it.
